Collinsworth aka Oktober9 is a man of various talents that includes graphic art/design, creative writing, videography, photography, writing and performing hip-hop music, watercolor painting, and brand creation. In 1996 he formed his first hip-hop group (iLL Dialect) out of Lynchburg, Va with Oxen Johnson and Slo-Gully. In 2000 he took a step away from writing and recording music to focus on graphic art/design and videography which led to him creating Oktobervision in 2003. He linked up with Hill City hip-hop legend and hip-hop mentor Devious Kanevil in the same year, and worked with him on his album covers, graphic art, photos, videos, while traveling with him to Richmond hip-hop shows. In 2006 Oktober9 returned to making music and formed a rap duo (L-Burgerz) with rapper and beat maker Mic Larry. Soon after, the duo combined forces with Devious Kanevil and molded the trio Kamaflage Lodge. The group created music and performed at a show in Richmond, then parted ways. Oktober9 was forced to make music as a solo artist which led to two projects: Take a Bite and Subterranean Drama. In October of 2011 Oktober9 and Devious Kanevil created the hip-hop show brand Karate Chop Hip-Hop *Rappin’ for Sushi, giving hip-hop artists all across Virginia an opportunity to show a Lynchburg audience their skills on the mic. In 2015 he formed the group Demise, made up of Golden Gripp, Nina N.I.N.E., and Phyness. Three songs into their project the group disbanded. In 2014 he linked with good friend and beat maker Byah, forming the duo Wolfgang Twain. The two created The Possession, which was Oktober9's first release on Rawsole Records. Seventeen plus years of writing rhymes has led him to this point as a hip-hop/mixed media artist.
